KPIT Cummins to start operations in Wroclaw

KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd a global IT consulting organization with its subsidiaries in Europe and United States, announced decision to start its European near shore operations in Wroclaw.

The operations will be located in Wroclaw Technology Park by the quarter beginning July 2006. The proposed facility in Poland will initially operate with 100 people to be recruited locally. The team is expected to grow to 500 people over the next few years. Company is planning to recruit experienced engineers initially; however there are discussions with the local university for curriculum changes and adequate training to meet their specific requirements.

Commenting on the announcement, Sanjay Mandal, the President of KPIT Info systems GmbH said, “This facility will enable KPIT to service customers in the same time zone with multilingual capabilities. This will also provide flexibility to our customers to interact with their teams personally on a more regular basis due to shorter traveling distance. Finally, in case of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), it makes it easier to find resources skilled in European Accounting practice and VAT regulation.” He added “Wroclaw provided an excellent mix of availability of skilled technical resources, good infrastructure and welcoming government policies.”
